BREAKING: The risk of an expanded Iran war grew after Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis launched their first attack on Israel since the start of the conflict, even as additional U.S. forces reached the Middle East.

The Houthis launched a "barrage of " targeting sensitive military sites in southern Israel, specifically triggering sirens in Beersheba.

While the IDF confirmed intercepting a over Israel and a cruise missile over the Red Sea, the Houthis have vowed that their operations will continue until "aggression" on all fronts (including Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza) ceases.

Their involvement raises immediate concerns for global trade. The Houthis have hinted at closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which, combined with the current chokepoint at the Strait of Hormuz, could effectively paralyze maritime energy and cargo routes.
